My journey into the psychology behind an athlete’s mind began at 10 when I started boxing. Although I didn’t realise it consciously at the time, I was studying the boxers and other athletes ai idolised mindsets, in the attempt to implement their ideas and regimes into my own life. Instantly the benefits were visible both in the performance of my athletic pursuits winning local titles in the following few years but also in my personal life. As the mindset I adapted allowed me to gain confidence, physical fitness and much better mental health all round. This journey then took me to university where I completed a master's degree in sports psychology in combination with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and criminology. With a focus on developing children and young people’s mindsets through the common interest in sports and exercise. Since leaving university I have primarily worked in school’s with young people from a variety of backgrounds including those with disabilities and short stay school’s. With children who for a variety of reasons struggle to adjust to a mainstream education and through the use of psychological & sports psychology techniques I am proud to have improved the mindsets both in and out of educational settings for several of the children I have had the honour of working with on a 1-1 or group basis.
