Iestyn Howells MSc, BSc

iestyn

Iestyn is a budding Sport & Exercise Psychology MSc graduate who achieved Distinction at the University of Greenwich and was awarded the BSc Sport Psychology programme award from the University Campus of Football Business (UCFB) in Wembley. His strong academic foundation equips him with a comprehensive understanding of the psychological factors and techniques that can influence performance and well-being through sports and exercise.

Iestyn's care for others is reflected in his research, which surrounds self-efficacy in both practitioners and athletes, alongside other mental health factors such as anxiety, and how these variables interact with one's mental and physical performance (psychophysiology).

He has hands-on experience delivering mental skills training in football, having supported both university players at UCFB Wembley and adult athletes at Corinthian-Casuals FC. His familiarity with the EPPP academy football guidelines ensures that his work aligns with best practices in mental development through sport.

In addition to his applied psychology work, Iestyn’s experience as an agency teaching assistant allows him to present complex concepts in an engaging and relatable way to ever-changing audiences. His empathetic manner paired with his practical, approachable, and evidence-based approach makes him an ideal mentor.
