With nearly 20 years experience working in the sports industry, I have a passion for understanding performance and helping others give their best, especially under pressure. I've played hockey and cricket both at national level, and I’ve won medals at International Masters Weightlifting Competitions, including a World Masters silver, European Bronze and two British Masters titles all in the past two years.
My background in Sport and Exercise Science, includes a BSc., MSc. and PhD. from the University of Exeter, where I examined expertise, skill acquisition and performance under pressure. I went on to work at Liverpool Hope University, conducting research on the processes underpinning motor skill development in children with coordination disorders.
For many years I worked as a Gym and Fitness Manager at a busy leisure centre, coaching and training high-performance athletes including children across different sports. Now, I run my own gym in North Devon with my business partner. I help athletes improve their strength, mindset, and ability to perform under pressure, whether in training or competition. My experience in high-performance sport, both as an athlete and a coach, gives me a deep understanding of the physical and psychological demands of competition, and I can’t wait to help others not only cope with the demands of high level sport, but to thrive in the competitive environment.
